2002 | THE CREATIVE START
For Aaron, photography is more about personal expression and exploration then it is about taking a beautiful image. Being in the field with a camera in his hand, is a bit like fishing in the remote rivers and lakes of Canada, it doesn’t matter if you catch (capture) anything, it’s about the journey. Often just standing or walking through a location and enjoying the surrounds is just as, or more rewarding then taking a great shot. By taking this approach Aaron is able to see beyond the landscape and instead feel it, helping to create unique and striking images.
Aaron has been taking photos as long as he can remember, as most people have. It was back in the early 2000’s, on a trip to Uluru in the Australian outback, when he starting thinking more creatively about what he was capturing. Firstly, with a passion for landscape photography, he delved deep into the art of landscape photography. Then combining his passion for landscapes and travel he has branched out into both genres. He has been mastering his craft ever since, and never stops learning. Being an Engineer and Project Manager in a previous life the technical side of photography came easily, allowing the creative side of photography to be his prominent focus.
The full time photography business was born. Walking away from the engineering and mining industry in Australia, Aaron started his photography business. Building off his strengths in landscape photography and post processing in Photoshop, he developed photography tours & workshops through Asia, Australia and Canada.
After having used Photoshop since the early 2000’s and Channel Masks (Luminosity Masks), Aaron created a Luminosity Mask Panel for his own personal use. He started creating video tutorials and found that there was in interest in his personal panel. ADP Pro was developed, a luminosity mask panel, and has become an important part of the workflow of 1000’s of photographers around the world.
Aaron joined the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography). Entering the West Australian photography awards for the first time as a professional. The AIPP awards are an end to end process, which makes them more challenging, but very rewarding. Each entrant submits a portfolio of 4 printed and matted images, showing our skills from capture right through to print and presentation quality. Each image is blindly judged by 5 judges, with an average score reached for each image. After all images are judged the top three portfolios, total score of 4 images added together, are then re-judged and a category winner is chosen. Then the winning portfolios of each category is judged again against each other, to select an overall winner.

The Big Move. After having run photography tours in the Canadian Rockies for a couple of years, Aaron & Tiffany moved back to Canada from Australia, home (for Aaron). We settled in the Canadian Rockies, one of the most incredible landscape photography locations on earth. Expanding on our tours in the Rockies, many new tours have been added throughout the seasons, and a day photo tour business was established.
We’re often asked what photography equipment we’re carrying. Below you’ll find a list of our main photography equipment. This is not necessarily an endorsement for this equipment, it’s what we’ve ended up with after spending a great deal of time testing and wearing out our equipment. Although gear can make some differences in our final product, it is not what makes you a good photographer, that’s all between the ears.
