Jasper Alight

The mountains surround Jasper have been heavily affected by the Pine Beetle. As the beetle moves through the pine forests, it is killing a large quantity of trees. The trees are turning red, creating seas of colour, while devastating, can be beautiful.

On the shores of the Athabasca River, the mountains started to glow an unbelievable red colour, in the distance. Zooming in on the beautiful blankets of red, I photographed his gorgeous scene at sunset.
