The first leaves to turn Autumn colour in the Rockies are in the ground cover. They turn all the rich colours of autumn, while the colour in the trees is strictly yellow. They ground cover starts to turn first, and can be a week or more before the trees.
All through the Rockies, you’ll find beautiful ground cover. From the valleys, to the lakes and the avalanche slopes, their is a kalaidescope of colour. This shot is one of the Valleys along the Icefield Parkway in Jasper National Park.
