Fire Over Rundle

The Aurora Borealis or ‘Northern Lights’ have a magical beauty and capture the imagination of most people. They are most prominent in areas further north, during larger solar storms they can easily reach Banff in the Canadian Rockies.

A strong Aurora was forecast on this evening. I jumped in my car and headed to several locations through the night. My first stop was Vermillion Lakes, where the lights were dancing in all their glory, lighting up the entire landscape in a tree glow.
